What is BPA and Should I be worried?

Why I avoid BPA Free plastic bottles and you should too.

I don’t know about you, but just the thought that I could be putting my kids' health in danger by letting them drink from so-called “BPA Free” plastic water bottles terrifies me. 😬

Do you want to know why?

Did you know that BPA is a chemical that mimics estrogen's structure and function, and once it gets in your body via your diet, it causes changes to your hormone levels and compromises your health?

Several studies proved that BPA could negatively affect many aspects of our health, including brain development, thyroid and immune system, to name a few.

Most people believe that only plastic contains BPA but did you know that it is also found in many everyday products such as canned food, food containers, hygiene products and toiletries.

It’s worth pointing out that many BPA-free products have replaced BPA with bisphenol-S (BPS) or bisphenol-F (BPF). However, their effect on your body is similar to BPA.

The bottom line is if you want to minimize chemical exposure for your kids, plastic is not the solution.

But what substitutions are genuinely safe, I hear you ask? We know glass and metal are nontoxic but unfortunately not very resistant or shatterproof, especially for children.

Make way for the material of the future: Silicone!

Why Is Silicone The Safest Choice?

Food-grade silicone is a non-toxic polymer mostly made from sand. It can withstand heating and freezing without leaching hazardous chemicals. It is also odour and stain-resistant, hypoallergenic, and will remain intact when cleaned in the dishwasher - unlike plastics, which contaminate food and drink, and is easily damaged when exposed to high temperatures.

For these reasons, and because of its durability, it is the perfect material for eco-friendly and non-toxic products that are safe for your kids!

Make the right choice for your children’s health by choosing our safe and non-toxic bottles!
