Yummy scrummy balls of energy!

Ok, I have a confession to make, I love Peanut butter, but not with jam, I’m more a peanut butter and golden syrup type of girl (but I settle for honey for a healthy option)

The recipe i'm sharing with you today can be done for your child to take to school or keep one or two stashed away for a after school treat or for when you need a burst of energy! 😉

I have selected this delicious recipe from Yummy Toddler Food, they are sweet, easy to make and yet so healthy!

I used to make these energy balls when my daughter was about 2 years old and she absolutely loved them and still does today. What child doesn't enjoy a bit of messy play and when you are preparing these with the kids they can really get their hands all sticky and messy, fun for everyone! 😜

Best of all there is no baking involved and they are so handy to have in the house when you are feeling peckish and need an energy boost, they are my little balls of happiness!


Makes: 12 balls

Prep & Cook time: 10 min


85g smooth unsweetened peanut butter

85g honey

1 teaspoon vanilla

85g rolled oats ground into a coarse flour in a blender or food processor (or quick oats)

40g raisins, cut in half (optional, but recommended for overall texture)


Place the peanut butter and honey in a heat-proof container (such as a glass measuring cup) and warm for 15-30 seconds in the microwave. Add to a medium bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Stir thoroughly with a wooden spoon as much as you can, then use your hands to mix the dough together. Use a tablespoon-size measuring spoon to portion and roll into balls. Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. 

Bonus tips: Try using dried cherries, cranberries, apricots or chocolate chips instead of the raisins.
